Performer - Director - Designer
Former Executive Director of the Historic St George Theatre, a 2,000 seat live performance venue, Wayne is back to his passion: acting and directing.
Recent credits include: Mozart in the Jungle, On the Scene with Paula Zahn, A Crime to Remember, The Wizard of Lies, and Thanksgiving.
Most recent accomplishments: Lighting design for Harbor Lights Theater Company's production of GYPSY.
Initiating "SHAKESPEARE ON THE STEPS", a free, outdoor staging of Shakespearean works on the steps of Staten Island's Borough Hall...overlooking the world famous Staten Island Ferry terminal.
Most recent directing assignment:
Sins of Salem, a one act play in development, based on the actual transcripts of the Salem, Massachusetts witch trials of 1692.
Prior, an award winning site-specific staging of Saul Levitt's play, THE ANDERSONVILLE TRIAL, performed in the 3rd County Courthouse in the Historic Richmond Town Restoration.
Past directorial credits include the New York Premiere of Steven Dietz's comic thriller YANKEE TAVERN which enjoyed a two venue, extended run. In spring of 2010 he directed a sold-out, site specific staged production of Christopher Sergel's play, To Kill a Mockingbird, based on Harper Lee's classic novel.
The New York Times said,
"Experts on 'To Kill a Mockingbird' say that apart from Harper Lee's hometown in Alabama, where the play is performed each May in the Monroe County Heritage Museum Courthouse, the drama might not have been staged in a real courtroom before."
For seven years he was the Producing Artistic Director of The Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre, a 36 year old producing company in his home town (www.sistny.org).
Wayne closes the show on Carnival Cruise Lines, Canival Victory...
